HEART DISEASE
SIGNS OF HEART DISEASE:
lethargy and weakness
reduced ability to exercise
frequent cough
difficulty breathing
reduced appetite and/or weight loss
fainting and collapse
swelling of the abdomen
cats - paralysis of the hindleg(s)
Overweight pets are more likely to develop heart disease. Small dog breeds are more likely to have leaky heart valves and so a heart murmur can be heard. Large and Giant dog breeds are more likely to have enlarged hearts. There are lots of medications available which help maintain heart function.
